1st - Spring had certainly sprung. The tulips kept flowering until they faded by month's end. 3rd - There was still residual mud on the house after February's floods. . For the Easter break Keno & James decided to leave Oxford for a break in Denmark
Wonderful, Wonderful Copenhagen . Back in the La Cachette garden various plants started to flower such as the Cherry Tree And cherries started to bud. How to keep the birds away?
4th - A misty moring to wake up to . Gentle winds, and warm air... spot the paraglider. Higher than we've ever seen them Back in Adelaide Cam & Olivia are dog sitting a pal's dalmation called Luna. Clearly starving.
. Paulie & Stephen headed off for a pedal The basement (la Cave) still had to dry out more before painting was possible. The insurers sent an outfit with 4 large fans and an industrial dehumidifier that complimented the one Paulie & Stephen had. 5th - Yolande asked the guys to lunch at her farm
Rubers and Arthur wanted to have a catch up. The guys hadn't been in France since the end of August the year before . 6th - The view from a pedal up to La Corniche on Stephen's morning ride. Paulie meditated in the garden whilst planning an Easter (Pâques) early dinner
Menu done. The inside chef was ahead of the game And then the outside chef starting his bit Friends have a drink before the meal Dinner was served.
9th - Paulie and Stephen walked up the newly  paved portion of Rue Droite to stay a week at Port Bleue as La Cachette was rented to Australian guests Michael & Storm's patio offered different views And a spacious room and it's own adjoining kitchen. .
A level up Storm was in her room working on a new piece And the paving crew outside continued their months-long work on the paving . The lovely La Cachette visitors, Lance & Melinda, were given a quick tour of the village including the view of the village from Roc d'Anglars
10th - Back in Adelaide Olivia and Cam waited for their flight to the half marathon in Hobart, Tasmania Back in France, the duo went for hikes. Once more they tackled the lovely Roc Deymié walk (what they call "the Hundred Foot Journey" walk as it featured in the film of that name). 11th- Paulie headed to the village of Varen where the local friperie (2nd hand store) held a fashion parade to raise money for the local Pompier (fire fighters) .
Stephen & Paulie prepared apero in the Porte Bleue upstairs kitchen to share with Michael and Storm. Back in Noosaville Australia, Paulie's sister Jan takes "Boo" for a walk. 12th -The day has come. The day to run And run they did
. . That evening Hobart called St Antonin Noble Val for a half marathon debrief 14th - Paulie and Stephen went for a spin to nearby Caylus to see the Cascade Pétrifiante (fossilised waterfall). A potential swimming hole as the year gets warmer?
. . . 15th - the guys in Tasmania drove up Mt Wellington which at varous times during the year snows. Chilly!
It was a warm Spring day 17,000 km away from Hobart when Stephen and Paulie took their guests and a tour of local sights. In this case the Chateau at Penne, 16km away home. . They also drove a further 23 km to the bastide village of Puycelci 16th - back home, the garden was changing as new growth appeared
. The guys decided not to mow as the flowers (yes, mostly weeds) both looked pretty and supported inspect pollination It also brought various guests 17th - Storm joined the guys for a shopping trip & lunch at Caussade
. Paulie then went for a cycle and chatted to her equine pals in a nearby field 18th - home chores in the garden .
Stephen meditated on home chores in the garden In Adelaide Olivia was visited by Melbourne pal Lauren. They last caught up at Olivia's birthday (see 2025 December) . 200 metres away from Paulie & Stephen's house.
. . . It was then back to their garden where the "Snowball tree" was flowering.
Pals Sue, Steve, and Storm dropped in for drinks and to peek at the snowballs. 20th - Paulie headed off on a 24km cycle through the farm fields to Le Ségalar Haut past the wee church in Montrosier Which took her up what they call "One Tree Hill" 21st - Stephen's turn for a pedal. He pointed to the goal - the comms tower 273 metres atop Roc d'Anglar. Only 12km, but half of that was uphill.
Made it. The work on paving part of the village (but not Paulie & Stephen's area!) continued at a good pace right at the front fence. And out the back. The square at the back takes shape
. . One stone at a time The paving team left planting spaces in various areas.
As for the basement repairs, part of the plaster ceiling still needed replacing. And the walls had dried out and paint peeled The repair chores were on hold until after visits early May from Cam & Olivia from Adelaide, James from Oxford, and briefly from Olivia's pal Maddie (based in Cambridge) . 22nd - neighbour Hans asks the guys around for apéro
24th - The floods left a mess stuck on the bridge foundations but a few weeks later a boat towed the trees ashore to be removed. Paulie cycled over the bridge and along the river She quietly passed a fly fisherman And then Stephen welcomed Paulie home
The duo hosted an evening apéro in the garden with Yolande. . In Adelaide Cam was treated to his own Olivia mug. And an outing
The snowball tree started to snow back in the la Cachette garden 28th - The duo checked on the work progress on Rue Droite . That afternoon the duo went on the beautiful 25 km cycle to Cazals via La Corniche
